Is there a casino dress code?

Clothing or any other material displaying a message considered obscene, offensive, intimidating or threatening, or having a negative impact on other customers’ enjoyment of the casino, is not permitted.

Can you smoke in New Zealand casinos?

In compliance with government legislation, smoking is prohibited inside buildings and in outdoor areas of the casino. Designated smoking areas are available outside the complexes.

Electronic cigarettes and vaping devices may only be used in designated areas where smoking is permitted.

Do casinos have wheelchair access?

Can I use an electronic device in the gaming rooms?

The use of mobile phones or other electronic devices is not permitted at gaming tables and gaming machines. If you need to use your mobile phone while playing, you must temporarily suspend your game, and move away from the gaming table or gaming machine.

What are the rules on alcohol?

The consumption of alcohol outside the buildings is not permitted. Any person who appears to be under the influence of alcohol will not be allowed to enter the casino.

In New Zealand, the legal drinking age is 20. Alcohol may be consumed in casino bars and restaurants within reason.

Can I take a bag into a gaming room?

Yes, all types of bags can be brought into the casino, but they are subject to a security search. Security may request that oversized items be checked to the cloakroom, or left in your vehicle or hotel room if you are staying at a casino resort.

Is there video surveillance?

Yes. In New Zealand casinos, CCTV is used for security, regulatory compliance and crime detection purposes. Customers in the gaming establishments are subject to image capture. Facial recognition is also used to identify people who have registered for self-exclusion at gambling premises.

Is soliciting allowed at the casino?
